Carbs are the most efficiently broken-down and metabolized source of energy. A diet higher in carbs benefits performance and delays fatigue for both endurance, and stop-and-go athletes.

In general, 60-70% of the calories consumed by athletes should be nutritious carbs (2.5-6.o gms per lb. of body weight. Multiply your body weight by 2.5 to find out how many grams of carbs you should consume daily.)
